Female Prisoners Support Trust
As part of its women’s empowerment focus, Village Lift provided funding to FEMPRIST to implement 2 empowerment projects for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women.
The horticulture project at Murehwa Prison provides a water tank for irrigation, tools, and seedlings while equipping women with agricultural and financial skills to improve well-being, nutrition, and sustainable livelihoods.
A crochet empowerment project offers comprehensive training, including doily making, alongside a production and sales system to generate income and build confidence in these women.
Together, these projects promote rehabilitation, economic independence, social reintegration, and reduced recidivism.
